Internet of Things – An Overview
Internet of Things (IoT) is the ability to transfer data over a network with unique identifiers, without any interaction without humans or computers. Connected Internet devices have outnumber the world’s population by 1.5 to 1 ratio. The Internet and wireless technologies will connect different sources of information such as sensors, mobile phones, and cars which can sense aspects of the real world such as temperature, lighting, objects, etc. For example in the future, cabinets can send out notifications to inform the owner if toilet paper is running low or the fridge can read RFID tags on grocery items as they are put inside, then look up those tags to identify when they expire and inform the owner. The Internet of Things will be the largest device market in the world.
